When it comes to training, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
We believe a formal training class is best for puppy (or dog) and caretaker! Even if you know a lot of the basics, setting time aside for formal training can make a big difference. It also gives dogs a safe environment to meet other dogs/people and learn good manners before picking up bad habits at the wrong end of dog park! Also, if all caretakers can attend the training classes, it makes training more consistent- which all trainers will agree is KEY. If you have a busy schedule, some facilities offer boarding schools.
A recent newspaper article listed the following obedience schools in the Raleigh area. Some offer training at your home, some have a meeting space and others will meet you at a park, etc. Some offer more than one option. If you are working on a particular issue, ie separation anxiety, we recommend one on one training.
