Is there a particular brand of dog food Pet House Calls recommends?
With all of the information and misinformation out there, choosing one of the many types of pet food can be confusing. In addition, every pet has different needs. The goal of any pet food should be to provide balanced nutrition and maximize our pets' health. General signs that your pet is on a good diet for him/her include: healthy coat and skin, strong teeth, normal, solid bowel movements, lack of gas and/or vomiting, adequate appetite and healthy weight. A few brands that the majority of pets do well on include: Nutro, Purina ProPlan, and Wellness.
If your pet does not meet the above criteria (ie is overweight, has skin/coat problems, soft stool, etc) a diet change under veterinary guidance may be indicated!
